Troy is a committed and hard working attorney providing legal services primarily in the areas of real estate, lending, landlord-tenant and corporate business transactions. He has represented clients in real estate, lending and business transactions totaling in the billions of dollars. He has experience in large, complex sales and acquisitions of commercial properties, secured lending transactions, commercial and residential leasing, land development, business mergers-acquisitions, corporate formation, brokerage disputes and drafting and negotiating construction contracts, easements, covenants, conditions and restrictions, and other real estate documents.
As part of his real estate and lending transaction background, Troy has in-house counsel experience as former lead counsel with one of the 25 largest banks in the nation. In addition to leading a team of 13 members, including lawyers, paralegals and loan transaction associates, Troy managed the board relations group and functioned as interim secretary to the board of directors for the bank. His experience in the bank included drafting and negotiating loan documents and IT and HR contracts, participation in the drafting and negotiating of bylaws for the bank in connection with the bank’s merger with another bank, budgeting, board meeting agendas and minutes, and general corporate governance.
In addition to his legal experience, Troy owned and operated a franchise security business, which he sold for a profit after purchasing the existing franchise in poor condition and turning it into a profitable business.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Troy served as a police officer for the City of Colorado Springs from 1996 to 2004.
